FreedomPop Customer’s Q&A
FreedomPop FAQs
About freedompop.com Prices and Cost?
FreedomPop offers several plans. The most popular plan costs $10 per month, providing unlimited talk and text with 1GB of 5G+ speeds. For heavier data users, there's a $30 per month plan that includes unlimited talk, text, and data with 10GB of 5G+ speeds. There's also a free option available, which is quite limited, offering 200 minutes of talk, 500 text messages, and 500MB of data. The monthly rates increase as more data is added. For seniors, a plan with 250 talk minutes, unlimited messages, and 1GB of data costs an initial $2.99, followed by a $15 monthly charge. Please note that prices and plans may vary, so it's recommended to check the official website for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
How is FreedomPop's coverage?
FreedomPop uses AT&T’s cellular network, so it has coverage throughout the United States. However, as FreedomPop piggybacks off AT&T’s network, data speeds may be deprioritized in favor of AT&T customers. Despite this, delays or slowdowns are hardly noticeable. FreedomPop offers a truly free plan that provides a few minutes, texts, and very little data for a one-time $5 charge for the SIM card. Other plans can be customized, but the prices aren't great. FreedomPop doesn’t have family plans, but its parent company, Red Pocket Mobile, does. It's worth noting that FreedomPop's free plan is better suited to an emergency phone than your main line. However, those who are very strict about using a Wi-Fi connection for their calls and texts may be able to make it work.

About freedompop.com Payment Method?
FreedomPop is a paperless company. When signing up for a FreedomPop account, the credit card, debit card, or PayPal account used to complete the order will be used for plan renewals as well. When the billing cycle renews, the credit card on file will automatically be charged for any plans or services that are signed up for.
For the Premium SIM card, during activation, if the SIM card comes with a plan, no credit card information will be asked for, because the plan is already paid for. This means when the plan's renewal date arrives, the account will be placed into an "Airtime Expired" status until manual payment for the plan is submitted. Once the plan has been paid for, it will reset and the account status will change from "Airtime Expired" to "Active".
Automatic payments can be enrolled when renewing the plan. This means, when the plan renewal date arrives, the plan and any added services will be charged automatically, helping to avoid future "Airtime Expired" statuses.
The payment method can be changed at any time by logging into the account, clicking on the line, and then scrolling down to the bottom of the page. Click on "CHANGE PAYMENT" method to change the card used for automatic renewals.
While PayPal can be used to purchase the phone or SIM card, PayPal cannot be used to renew the plan or services. To change the payment method, log into the account online. A FreedomPop representative can also help with this change. When changes to the payment method are made, a $20 temporary authorization will be received. This is a charge that will appear as "pending" on the bank statement. This temporary authorization charge is issued simply to verify that the new payment method being used is a valid one.
Can I use FreedomPop internationally?
Yes, FreedomPop can be used internationally, but with certain conditions. The standard LTE SIM card purchased from FreedomPop will not work outside of the U.S. To use the service internationally, the carrier’s Global SIM Card must be purchased. The Global SIM Card provides access to talk, text, and network data within the FreedomPop partner network, which spans over 25 countries across the world. However, it's important to note that the Global SIM Card does not offer LTE services and will only provide 3G services.
